Teachings hold that the main global religions’ founders throughout history, known as “Manifestations of God,” were the means by which a single God revealed religion in an orderly and progressive way. Prior to the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh, the most recent of them were Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad. The main world religions are seen by Bahás as basically having the same goal, notwithstanding variations in social practices and interpretations. The Baha’i Faith places a strong emphasis on world unity and categorically rejects nationalism, racism, and sexism. The objective of a united global system that fosters the prosperity of all nations, races, religions, and social classes is at the core of Bahá’s teachings.
