📜 History of Full Moon Day of Waso

Gautama delivered his first speech almost 2,500 years ago at the Deer Park in Sarnath, India. Gautama outlined the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path in this speech titled “Setting the Wheel of Dhamma in Motion.” According to the sermon, there are four universal noble truths: the reality of suffering, the source of suffering, the possibility of ending the cause of suffering, and the way to the end of suffering. He proposed that following the Middle Path, or the Noble Eightfold Path, may alleviate a person’s suffering: right vision, right thinking, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration. Following this route would allow a person to liberate themselves from pain and achieve nirvana.

Gautama became known as Buddha after his death, which means “The Enlightened One.”
