📜 History of Gold Cup Parade

Following those first attempts to revitalize some local industries, the parade’s popularity grew at a quick pace. The original group of businesses that founded the parade chose to establish a non-profit organization in 1986, using the name “Charlottetown Parade Committee.”

Every year, a large number of volunteers participate in the design and construction of floats, which are a major attraction and are especially popular with the thousands of children who wave at them as they pass. The Gold Cup Parade has become a staple on the Charlottetown calendar, and with so much fun to be had, it’s also a big draw with tourists.
