📜 History of International Dance Day

The International Theatre Institute established this holiday to promote dance across the world, raise awareness of the importance of dance, and allow the dance community to showcase their work on a large scale. The objective is for governments and opinion leaders to become more aware of and supportive of dance in all of its forms. On top of that, International Dance Day was developed so that we might just enjoy dance for what it is and share our delight with others.

Every year, the ITI chooses an outstanding choreographer or dancer to compose the official holiday message. Their website has information about where their annual gala and other events are being held around the world.

Dance has been documented for over 9,000 years and has evolved into a global phenomenon. This event invites individuals to celebrate their favorite dancing genres while also learning new ones. There are dancing genres for people of different ages and rhythm skills, so there’s no reason not to participate.
