Playfair, a corporation, held the inaugural International Fun at Work Day in 1996. The proprietors of Playfair, who ran a company providing joy to academic induction ceremonies, thought that workers who work in a pleasant and relaxed setting are more productive and effective in their duties than those who work in a rigorous workplace. This strategy not only helped PlayFair make more sales and money, but it also made them a well-known and sought-after company in their field.
