Al-Sabah was a fantastic leader. During his rule, he signed a deal that guaranteed Kuwait’s independence from Britain, thereby ending the country’s position as a British protectorate in 1961. 📜 History of National Day Kuwait
Kuwait’s National Day dates back to 1950, when Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah became the country’s ruler.
Al-Sabah was the first son of Salim Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and was born in 1895. Since ascending to the throne in 1950, Al-Sabah has established himself as a unique leader of Kuwait. Unlike previous rulers, Al-Sabah was determined to abolish British authority in Kuwait, which he did in 1961. Kuwait was no longer a British protectorate after signing a treaty. As a result, he is considered the father of modern Kuwait. On November 11, 1962, Al-Sabah signed the Kuwait Constitution into law. Al-Sabah passed away in 1965 because he had a heart attack at the first meeting of the National Assembly.
Kuwait, officially known as the’ State of Kuwait, ‘is a nation in Western Asia. It has land borders with Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and a maritime border with Iran. Kuwait is the world’s fifth richest country, with the world’s sixth-largest oil reserves. Its currency, the “dinar,” is the most valuable in the world.
