✅ Martin Delaney
Delaney was a pioneering AIDS campaigner. He pressed the government and the FDA to expedite treatments and pharmacological studies. He also brought medicine from Mexico into the country illegally so he could test it on himself.
✅ Elizabeth Glaser
Glaser created the Pediatric AIDS Foundation after contracting HIV through a blood transfusion with her daughter. Her daughter had no medical choices at the time because no studies on therapy for youngsters had been conducted.
✅ Magic Johnson
When Johnson announced his HIV diagnosis in 1991, he feared career ruin and public anger. Then, he started the Magic Johnson Foundation to fight HIV/AIDS through education, testing, and medical care.
