📜 History of National Teenager Day

Their bodies are changing, their duties are changing, their social status is changing as they are no longer viewed as children but as adults, and even their minds are changing. There is a lot of growth and development in a teenager’s brain, which is mostly due to the elimination of useless connections in the gray matter (the area of the brain used to think and process information) and the strengthening of new connections that will make the brain more efficient. This process begins in the rear of the brain and continues to the front, where the prefrontal cortex is the last to develop. The prefrontal cortex is a critical part of the brain that is in charge of decision-making, planning, thinking, and problem-solving.

Because the prefrontal cortex is the final region of the brain to mature, teens must rely on the amygdala, which is the area of the brain that governs emotional reactions. This is the primary cause of teens’ often erratic conduct. They are not using the correct portion of their brain to think and make decisions, but rather the emotional part, which is responsible for their impulsive, violent, and instinctual conduct.
