📜 History of National Weatherman’s Day

A meteorologist is a scientist who studies and works in the field of meteorology in order to better understand and forecast Earth’s atmospheric phenomena, such as weather. Meteorologists in study explore meteorological phenomena, whereas weather forecasters and operational meteorologists create daily weather forecasts using mathematical models and information. Government organizations, commercial consultancy and research firms, industrial corporations, utilities, radio and television stations, and educational institutions are all places where they work.

They should not be confused with weather forecasters. Every day, a weather presenter provides the weather forecast on radio, television, or the internet. They employ a number of tools, such as projected weather maps, to teach viewers about current and future weather conditions, explain the causes of this evolution, and relay to the public any weather risks and alerts issued for their region, country, or larger areas. There are no prerequisites for becoming a weather presenter; however, depending on the location and medium, it could range from a television host’s introduction to meteorology to a diploma in meteorology from a recognized institution.

National Weatherman’s Day is observed on the birthday of John Jeffries, the Father of American Weather Observation. He was born on this date in 1745. Those that work in this sector put in many hours of study and labor to identify weather conditions and deliver that knowledge to us. We would never be equipped or clothed adequately for extreme weather conditions if it weren’t for them. National Weatherman’s Day is a day to honor these unsung heroes.
