📜 History of Nevruz Day

Nevruz begins on the spring equinox, which occurs between March 20 and March 21, when the lengths of the days and nights are equal, with the days gradually becoming longer, promising nicer weather.

According to Albanian mythology, God created the universe, the sun, and man on this day. The mythical Albanian monarch, Kiyumers, declared a huge feast when he assumed the throne. On this day, Jemshid, a symbol of magnificence in Albania, also rose to the throne. Furthermore, Jem, the Prophet Adam’s seventh grandson, came to Azerbaijan on March 21 and pronounced it a joyful day.

All animals were said to surrender to God on Nevruz night, and all wishes were granted. On Nevruz Day, the most important astrologer would give the sultan the new calendar and get money as a reward.

Nevruz, also known as’ Nevruz-i Sultan,’ “Sultan Nevruz,” “Navrz,” and “Mart Dokuzu,” is a holiday observed throughout Anatolia. In locations where most people work in agriculture, it is also a ceremony of plenty. It is also religiously significant among the Alawite-Bektashi communities. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tatarstan, the Uygur area, Anatolia, and the Balkans all celebrate Nevruz.
