Rudolph Foods, located in Lima, Ohio, started the annual food festival to encourage pig rind aficionados to treasure their favorite snack while also encouraging family togetherness, fun, and tradition. In addition to launching the national food day, the food giant offered to donate to charitable organizations in exchange for online support of the day from its followers. Since then, the food firm has generated donations for the Gridiron Greats Aid Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving medical and financial assistance to retired NFL players and their families. A lot of pork rind fans and customers from all over the country supported Rudolph Foods’ plan, including Ohio Governor John Kasich, who sent a letter of support for the day in 2012.
