📜 History of Sandcastle Day

The event is held in many different countries. Nonetheless, due to the expense and logistics required, it is not viable to bring together all of the participants who desire to participate in the same region. The world’s tallest sandcastle was built in 2007 at the “Sun Fun Festival” in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The 50-foot-tall structure took ten days to build and used 300 truckloads of sand.

This yearly event was created to remind us how much fun it is to play in the sand with water and sunshine. Childhood memories of sandcastle building should be treasured for the rest of one’s life. Sandcastle Day is a great opportunity to take a few hours out of your day to remember how much fun it can be to build sandcastles with your children at the beach.

Storms and other natural disasters can cause erosion, which can hurt our environment. People try to help by doing sand replenishment projects, but our ecology still suffers as our shoreline wears away.
