Every year on June 12, “Superman Day” is observed. The day is intended to honor the legendary Kryptonian and the over 90 years of narratives he’s been a part of. D.C. Entertainment established Superman Day in 2013 to coincide with the premiere of “Man of Steel.” The day was formerly known as “Man of Steel Day,” and comic book merchants honored it by handing out free copies of “All-Star Superman #1 Special Edition” in partnership with D.C. The continuation of the day in succeeding years, as well as the name change, seems to have occurred naturally.

📜 History of Superman Day

Jor-El and Lara, Kal-biological El’s parents, made one last attempt to save their son from the world’s impending destruction by sending him to Earth from his home planet. His adopted parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent of Smallville, Kansas, brought him up as Clark Kent on Earth. Clark’s parents and other family members learned of his superhuman powers as he grew up, including superstrength, laser eyesight, x-ray vision, flight, and invulnerability, among others. In Superman’s tales, the contrast between Clark Kent and his superhero alter ego, Superman, serves as a key source of tension as Clark juggles his work as a reporter with his actions as a messenger of goodwill.

Since his inception, Superman has served as a symbol of hope for the inhabitants of Earth; among his most known characteristics are his unwavering generosity and commitment to assisting others. Superman is a representation of goodness, bravery, and sacrifice.

Superman has made appearances in a range of media over the years, including comic books, newspaper comic strips, cartoons, movies, video games, etc. The role has been played and voiced by actors like Henry Cavill, Bud Collyer, Kirk Alyn, and Brandon Routh, among others.
