Talk to Us is the Samaritans’ annual awareness campaign that runs throughout July. Talk To Us strives to raise awareness of the charity’s work and the assistance it can provide. The Samaritans, a non-profit organization, launched the “Talk to Us” campaign in 2016. Throughout July, Samaritans’ branches will hold activities to promote awareness of the services they provide in local communities. These coordinated local activities raise awareness that the Samaritans are there to listen to anybody who is struggling to cope at any time of day or night.

📜 History of Talk to Us

To make ends meet after starting the Samaritans’ helpline, Chad would work all day and into the night creating screenplays and cartoons. Chad did, however, create a “999 for the suicidal” job in the summer of 1953. In its early years, the Samaritans operated out of London. However, other regions of the U.K. were quite interested as a result of the exposure. Other Samaritan’s Purse centers were opened in the years that followed, the second of which was Samaritan’s in Edinburgh, which had its first call on June 1, 1959. Every year, one in every four people in England has a mental health illness, according to Mind. Anyone who is struggling or uncomfortable needs to know where to turn.

The “Talk to Us” campaign features a range of events. Given the prevalence of mental health issues, people who need it must always have access to proper help. Because crises can happen at any moment, Samaritans’ round-the-clock support is essential. It might be difficult to recognize when you or someone you care about is having a hard time coping, which is understandable. You may find a lot of information on the Samaritans’ website to help you identify important signs of failure to cope.
