One of the popular strategies for trading in the stock market is based on the absolute price of shares. Based on it, some acquire inexpensive assets worth a few dollars. Others, on the contrary, focus on the most expensive financial instruments. There is a common theory that expensive stocks of large companies always rise in price. There is no 100% evidence for this, but this approach has a lot of adherents.

Today, we will look at the most expensive US shares on the stock market. Not all of them are available to ordinary investors owing to their high cost. However, they are interesting to observe. Let us consider the top shares of American companies with the highest value.

Currently, Berkshire Hathaway is the undisputed leader in the value of shares in the world. The price of one share of BRK.A is roughly $420,000. This is unprecedented in the history of the stock market.

Berkshire Hathaway has a market capitalization of over $620 billion.

Seaboard Corporation

Seaboard Corporation is a diversified multinational conglomerate founded in 1918. As a result of development and mergers with other companies over several decades, the flour milling business expanded to an international scale. In the 1980s, the company made its first attempts at diversification, investing first in the poultry business, and then in several agro-industrial enterprises of various profiles in the USA.

In 1990, the Seaboard Corporation entered the pork production and processing business. This direction became one of the key ones in the holding development. Today, Seaboard Corporation operates in six major segments. These are pig breeding, energy, shipping, sugar and alcohol production, turkey products, grain supplies, and flour production. The cost of SEB shares is $4,100 per share. The holding’s market capitalization is $4.2 billion. The shares have never been split since the issue in 1959.

NVR Inc. is the largest real estate and mortgage corporation in the USA. NVR operates in two directions. The first is the construction and sale of residential real estate such as townhouses. The second direction of the company’s activity is mortgage banking services. This includes lending, refinancing, and insurance.

Owing to this and the financial success of the company, its shares are still tremendously valuable.
